Solitaire
Solitaire (Klondike) is the world's most popular single-player card game played with a standard deck. Utilizing seven tableau columns, players build descending alternating sequences. Using click-to-select controls, the ultimate objective is to move all cards into four suit foundation piles starting from Ace.
Setup
- Tableau: 7 columns of cards (1 to 7 cards from left to right). Only the top card of each column is face-up; others are face-down.
- Stockpile: Remaining 24 cards kept face-down in a draw pile.
- Waste pile: Place cards here when drawn from the stockpile.
- Foundations: 4 empty slots at the top for suit building.
Controls
- Move card: Click and drag any face-up card onto another column or foundation slot.
- Auto-move: Double-click or right-click any card to send it automatically to foundations if a legal move is open.
- Draw card: Click the Stockpile to draw new cards (Draw 1 or Draw 3 mode).
- Mobile: Tap and slide cards using responsive mobile touch.
Rules
- Tableau cards can be moved and organized in descending order and alternating colors (e.g., place a red 6 on a black 7).
- Only a King (or a descending stack starting with a King) can be placed in an empty tableau column.
- When a face-down card in the tableau becomes exposed, click it to flip it face-up.
- Build the four foundations up by suit in ascending order starting with the Ace (Ace → 2 → 3... → King).
- Draw from the stockpile into the waste pile when no legal moves are available in the tableau columns.
- You win the game by successfully transferring all 52 cards into the 4 foundation piles.
Tips
- Always prioritize uncovering face-down cards in the longest tableau columns first to reveal your options.
- Never empty a tableau column completely unless you already have a King available to place there.
- Move Aces and 2s to the foundations immediately, but keep moderate cards (3s and 4s) in the tableau if they are needed to support descending builds.
