Golf Solitaire
Golf Solitaire is a classic solitaire card game where players clear a tableau of cards into a single pile. Utilizing seven columns of five cards each, solvers match exposed cards that are one rank higher or lower than the foundation card. Using click-to-move controls, the objective is to clear all cards onto the foundation.
Setup
- Tableau: 7 columns of cards dealt face-up (5 cards each, 35 cards total).
- Stockpile: 17 remaining cards kept face-down in a draw pile.
- Foundation: 1 face-up card flipped from the stockpile to start the discard pile.
Controls
- Move card: Click or tap any exposed card to send it to the foundation
- Draw card: Click the stockpile or press D to deal a new card
- Undo move: Press Ctrl + Z or click the Undo button
- Mobile: Tap cards directly using smooth touch controls
Rules
- Only the topmost card of each tableau column is available for play.
- Move a card to the foundation if it is one rank higher or one rank lower than the current top card of the foundation.
- Suits are completely ignored during matching.
- If no valid moves are available, click the stockpile to draw a new card onto the foundation.
- There is no tableau building; cards cannot be moved between columns or into empty spaces.
- Win by successfully clearing all 35 cards from the tableau.
Tips
- Scan the board for long, multi-card sequences (e.g., 5-6-7-6) before making your first move; always play the longest chain.
- Treat the stockpile as a valuable, limited resource; draw only when you have exhausted all moves on the tableau.
- Prioritize clearing cards that are blocking other cards deep in the tableau to open up your options.
- Aces and Kings have fewer connections; play them strategically to avoid deadlocks.
