Geometry Dash

Geometry Dash is a high-speed, rhythm-based action platformer game where players navigate a morphing icon through hazardous tracks. Developed by Robert Topala in 2013, players use a single key like the Spacebar or left-click to jump. The objective is to reach the level's end without hitting obstacles, utilizing Practice Mode checkpoints to master difficult paths.

Controls

  • Jump / Action: Press Spacebar, Up Arrow Key, W Key, or Left Mouse Click
  • Mobile: Tap the touchscreen anywhere
  • Platformer Mode (v2.2): Use A/D or Left/Right Arrow Keys to move left/right

How to Play

  1. Your icon automatically slides forward at a fixed speed across a rhythm-synchronized track.
  2. Tap the jump key in time with the music to leap over spikes, saws, and block obstacles.
  3. Touch floating orbs and tap your jump control to perform mid-air jumps or gravity flips.
  4. Pass through color-coded portals to transform into different vehicle modes with unique gravity and flying physics.
  5. Successfully navigate to the very end of the track (100%) to complete the level. Hitting any obstacle forces an instant restart.

Vehicle Game Modes

  • Cube: Default mode; tap to jump over basic obstacles.
  • Ship: Hold to fly upward, release to descend downward.
  • Ball: Tap to reverse gravity and roll on the ceiling or floor.
  • UFO: Tap to jump mid-air (similar to Flappy Bird mechanics).
  • Wave: Hold to fly diagonally upward, release to slide diagonally downward.
  • Robot: Hold longer to perform higher, controlled jumps.
  • Spider: Tap to instantly teleport to the opposite surface, reversing gravity.

Tips

  • Always utilize Practice Mode for difficult levels; turn off "Auto-Checkpoints" and place checkpoints manually to isolate and practice hard segments.
  • Turn up the volume! Geometry Dash is heavily rhythm-based, and timing your jumps to the beat of the soundtrack is the most consistent way to pass tight obstacles.
  • Play copyable versions of official levels in the editor using Start Pos blocks to practice difficult transitions with full music sync.
