Floppy Bird

Floppy Bird
Floppy Bird is a side-scrolling arcade game where players control a pixelated bird. Using mouse clicks or spacebar presses, you flap upward to navigate through narrow gaps in endless vertical green pipes. The objective is to survive without touching obstacles or the ground. Dong Nguyen originally created the classic gameplay mechanics in 2013.
Controls
- Flap upward (Desktop): Click the mouse button or press Spacebar
- Flap upward (Mobile): Tap anywhere on the screen
How to Play
- Click or tap to flap wings, elevating the bird against automatic gravity descent.
- Navigate between gaps in the endless sequence of oncoming vertical green pipes.
- Score 1 point for each successfully cleared pair of green pipes.
- Keep flying as long as possible; hitting any pipe or the ground triggers game over immediately.
Tips
- Don't over-flap: Gravity accelerates the bird downward. Single, well-timed flaps break momentum better than frantic clicking.
- Aim low: Approach gaps from below. It is easier to flap upward rapidly than to wait for a natural drop when avoiding obstacles.
- Maintain a calm rhythm: Focus on the gaps ahead rather than your score to avoid nervous, mistimed taps.
