Flagle

Flagle
Flagle is a daily geography puzzle game where players identify a country by its national flag. Inspired by Wordle, solvers have 6 attempts to guess the correct nation. Each incorrect guess reveals an additional flag block and provides distance and direction clues (in kilometers and arrows). Using keyboard typing with autocomplete, players logically triangulate the target country.
Rules
- Grid/Board: A hidden flag covered by 6 blocks.
- Objective: Correctly guess the country associated with the hidden flag.
- Attempts: Solvers have a maximum of 6 attempts.
- Daily Puzzle: One new flag per day, shared by all players worldwide.
Controls
- Select country: Click/tap the input box and type a country name
- Autocomplete: Click or tap a country from the drop-down suggestion list
- Submit guess: Press Enter or click the submit button
- Mobile: Tap the virtual on-screen keyboard to search and select
Geographical Clues
After each incorrect guess, the game reveals an additional block of the flag and provides:
- Distance: How many kilometers (km) your guessed country is from the target.
- Direction: An arrow (e.g., ↗️, ⬇️) pointing toward the target country's location.
Step by Step
- Type your initial guess into the search box, selecting from the autocomplete list, and press Enter.
- Analyze the newly revealed block of the flag to spot unique colors, stripes, or national emblems.
- Check the distance (km) and direction arrow to narrow down the target continent or region.
- Refine your next guess using geography knowledge (e.g., if target is 5,000 km North-East of Brazil).
- Solve the flag within 6 tries to win the game.
Tips
- Start with geographically central "anchor" countries (like Japan, Switzerland, or Brazil) to establish a baseline distance and direction clue.
- Learn to distinguish lookalike flags (such as Chad vs. Romania, or Monaco vs. Indonesia) to avoid wasting attempts.
- Pay attention to regional design patterns; African flags often use Pan-African colors (red/green/yellow), while Nordic flags feature the classic offset cross.
