Block Blast

Block Blast is a free block-placement puzzle played on a fixed 8×8 grid. You hold three shapes at a time and drag them onto the board; filling a complete row or column clears it, and a placement that finishes more than one line at once is worth more than clearing those lines separately. Shapes never rotate and nothing falls on its own, so a run ends the moment none of the shapes you are holding will fit anywhere — which can happen with plenty of empty squares still on the board, if they are scattered. The browser version keeps your board and your best score between visits.

Drag a shape from the tray below the board onto the 8×8 grid. It has to fit entirely in empty squares, and shapes never rotate — there is no rotate control, so where you place a piece is the only decision you make.

Fill all eight squares across a row or down a column and that line clears. You hold three shapes at a time and may use them in any order; a new set arrives once all three are gone. A placement that completes two lines at once is worth more than completing them one at a time. The run ends the moment none of the shapes you are holding can be placed anywhere.

Judge all three shapes before placing any of them, and work out where the awkward one goes first. Build against blocks that are already on the board rather than out in open space, keep one row or column deliberately clear as a landing spot for long pieces, and avoid leaving single-square gaps, since only a single-square piece can ever fill them.
