Block Blast

Block Blast is an addictive block puzzle game where you strategically place Tetris-like shapes onto an 8x8 grid. Since blocks cannot be rotated, you must carefully plan your moves to clear horizontal rows and vertical columns. Your goal is to maximize combo multipliers and keep the board from filling up, as the game ends when no space remains for your 3 given pieces.

Rules

• Grid: Play on an 8x8 board.
• Blocks: You are given 3 random block shapes per turn. You must place all 3 before receiving new ones.
• Rotation: Blocks cannot be rotated. You must place them exactly as they appear.
• Clearing: Fill a complete horizontal row or vertical column to clear those blocks from the board and earn points.
• Game Over: The game ends when there is no space left on the grid to place any of your remaining blocks.

How to Play

1. Click and drag a block from your hand onto the 8x8 grid.
2. Position the blocks to create solid rows or columns.
3. Try to clear multiple lines simultaneously to trigger a Combo, which significantly boosts your score multiplier.
4. Keep placing blocks and clearing lines to survive as long as possible and reach a high score.

Tips

• Keep the center open: Avoid cluttering the middle of the board, as this gives you more flexibility to fit larger, awkward shapes.
• Prepare for the 3x3 block: Always leave enough open space (at least a 3x3 area) for the largest block pieces to prevent an instant game over.
• Look ahead: Don't just place blocks randomly. Analyze all 3 pieces in your hand and plan their placements to maximize line clears and combos.
• Avoid isolated gaps: Do not leave small, 1-block gaps around the edges, as they become "dead space" that is very difficult to fill later.
